Happy New Year 🎉
We hope you and your family are doing well. Wishing you a joyful, productive, and successful 2026 — hopefully your best year yet.
We’re starting the year with some big news.
Before we dive into the product updates (fair warning: it’s a long one), there’s one important announcement we don’t want you to miss.
🎁 One final Lifetime Deal (one week only)
Over the years, we’ve kept a Lifetime Deal to support solo users who prefer a one-time payment instead of a subscription.
As Upbase enters a new phase, we’ve decided to remove the Lifetime Deal permanently.
It’s no longer available publicly — except for one final week as a New Year send-off.
👉 Grab the Lifetime Deal here:

⏰ This link expires on January 16.
After that, the Lifetime Deal will be gone for good and never offered again.
Now, let’s look ahead. 2026 is a big year for Upbase — and we’re just getting started.
Upbase is going all-in on client work
Over time, one thing has become very clear to us:
Upbase is used most by client-facing teams — agencies, consultants, freelancers, and service teams managing work for multiple clients every day.
When we asked why they chose Upbase, two reasons kept coming up again and again:
- Simplicity
- Granular, per-item guest sharing
Why simplicity matters
We used to think agencies needed complex project management systems.
It turns out the opposite is true.
Agencies want something simple to run their work. And once clients are involved, complexity completely breaks down. Clients don’t want to learn a new complex PM tool just to give feedback or approvals.
That’s where Upbase shines.
Why per-item guest sharing matters
In tools like Asana, ClickUp, or Notion, inviting a client to a project means they see everything.
That’s like inviting guests into your messy kitchen instead of the dining room.
Upbase lets you share only what’s ready, only what’s relevant, and only what the client needs to see — down to individual tasks and items.
After talking with many small agencies, we realized we could solve their problems better than most tools out there. So instead of trying to be everything for everyone, we made a focused decision:
👉 Upbase is going all-in on client work.
Want the bigger picture? We’ve updated our website with our new positioning and vision → Learn more at https://upbase.io/
What this means in practice
- We’re designing features around clients first, not just tasks and projects
- We’re optimizing workflows for multiple clients, multiple projects, and shared visibility
- Future updates will focus on helping you deliver work smoothly and collaborate with clients with less friction
This isn’t a short-term experiment.
It’s our long-term product direction.
(And if you don’t work with clients — Upbase still works great. You can hide client-related features to keep things clean and focused.)
Introducing: Client Management 🎉
As agencies, you don’t just manage projects — you manage clients.
Now you can manage your clients directly inside Upbase, alongside their projects.
Important: Only the workspace owner and admins can access the Client Management page.
Client details

Keep everything about a client in one place:
- Client information
- Client users (guests)
- Important notes
- Files and links for quick reference
In Upbase, clients are companies, and client users are guests.

Client Timesheets

You can now view timesheets per client, across all their projects — and export them with one click.
No more manually filtering timesheets project by project.
Internal Client Dashboard
This is a big one — especially if you manage multiple projects for the same client.
The Internal Client Dashboard gives your team a true bird’s-eye view of everything happening across all client projects.

On a single page, you can:
- See every active project, real-time status (On track, At risk, Off track), and completion percentages
- Instantly spot what’s upcoming, overdue, or recently completed across all projects
- See exactly where you’re waiting on the client so you can follow up proactively
- Keep critical documents like MSAs, billing trackers, and design links private and accessible
- Maintain internal notes, kickoff summaries, and context that stays with the client forever
This solves one of the biggest agency pains: no clear, high-level view of the overall client relationship.

Client-facing Dashboard
Clients get their own dashboard, separate from your internal one.
It looks similar, but only shows what you’ve chosen to share with them.
This solves another major service-business pain: clients not knowing what’s going on — and constantly chasing updates.

Now clients can quickly answer:
- What needs my input right now?
- What was finished recently?
- What’s overdue or coming up next across all my projects?
Less back-and-forth.
More clarity.
More trust.
New pricing option: Flat pricing (optional)
For growing agencies, per-user pricing can add up quickly.
So we’ve added a flat pricing option, while keeping per-user pricing — so you can choose what fits best.
You can now choose:
- Per-user pricing — great for small teams
- Flat pricing — best for growing or larger teams
Introductory flat pricing
- $99/month (yearly)
- $119/month (monthly)
- ✅ Unlimited users
This is introductory pricing and will increase in the future.
If you’re planning to grow your team, this option can save you a lot long-term.

AI Assistant: Draft subtasks faster 🤖
Our AI assistant can now help you automatically draft subtasks, so you can break down work faster and stay focused.

Privacy note:
The AI does not access your projects. It only uses the task title and description when you explicitly ask it to draft subtasks, sending that information to OpenAI via prompts.
And yes — more AI features are on the way.
🚀 What we’re building next
Most of our upcoming priorities continue to focus on client work. Here’s what’s coming up:
- Open API — in progress
- Zapier integration — currently in private beta, going public soon
- Bug fixes and performance improvements
- Project templates — upcoming
- Slack and Google Drive integrations — upcoming
Thanks for being part of Upbase 💜
We’re excited to build the future of client work with you.
